The DIN is a distinctive identifier for a Director, containing personal information about him. The need for introducing the unique identifier in form of DIN for Director arose from Practices of Companies which raised capital from public and eventually vanish, with their Directors became untraceable. With the help of DIN, we can co-relate the participations of Director in other companies, past or present. An Application is made to Central Government for obtaining DIN. This is a simple one day process, where anyone can apply for DIN online.
